Eat right now

December 12th 2007 12:07

After 3 days on the South Beach diet I have noticed a few changes, mainly to my energy levels; I am exhausted! I have had to knock off a bit earlier from work and take a siesta, which isnt really that bad. It probably also has to do with giving up my beloved soy lattes. The girls in my cafe gave me a Christmas card the other day to thank me for my support! Now they probably think I have abandoned them. Not to worry - in a week and a half I get caffeine back!

Phase 1 is most definitely a low-carb phase where most carbohydrates (and all starchy carbs) are completely eliminated. It only has to last 2 or 3 weeks. This phase causes the most weight loss apparently, with the good Dr Agatston claiming 8-13 pounds - whatever that is in kegs. Some complain of nausea, dehydration and headaches, but so far so good. I need a good detox.

To be honest, I am not finding the dietary restrictions all that taxing. I emptied my fridge prior to commencing and have stocked it withtasty, healthy foods that I enjoy anyway. I am combining it with some fairly intense exercise, so results should appear in a few more days. As yet, no diminishment in the love handle regioin, which is a concern.

Looming ahead on friday is the Daft Punk concert . . .no alcohol? Maybe I'll be naughty and make up for it next week .

So far coffee is more sorely missed than alcohol, pasta or bread.
What would cause you the most difficulty?

I don't really have a problem this way, I thought that was you there for a minute, looking so good, but keep trying, give the booze a miss, it's chock a block with calories.

Foolish boy, do get back to eating normally, but well, it sounds like you're engaged in a fair bit of physical work, you'll burn muscle instead of fat and that's why you feel so weak. Diets do not work, healthy eating with increased exercise, does, but stay off the booze, but you may have some coffee. Thinking of you, if not always finding you, katyzzz

I am working with some friends on a program for weight loss right now that is really phenomenal. I'm interested in how this diet works for you. I've sworn off dieting for the rest of my life, so I'm thrilled to find this product we're producing. (well, they're producing it, I'm just transcribing it) Lemme know if you want more info , it should be done in a few weeks.
